It was dark and felt heavy so in updating their home to a lighter brighter look they asked us what we could do with it. Stucco italiano solido floor plaster is a 2 3mm thick cementitious overlay which creates a luxurious natural smooth finish with a mottled look that matures over time. Pastellone plaster retains the aesthetics of the traditional venetian marmorino for floors while adding the durability that modern day living demands.

As the surface is burnished after application it develops a finish that has the look of genuine marble. Pastellone was in fact the application of classic venetian marmorino onto floors. In particular our pastellone a lime based plaster that keeps in with the traditional marmorino venetian plaster for floors marries elegance with durability. The material can be applied to nearly any interior floor and is suitable for high traffic locations.

The client asked us to replace an existing floor that was very light in color easily marked and not rally in keeping with the rest of the house. Our pastellone is made stronger by adding cement and binders. Stucco italiano solido floor plaster is suitable for the residential market. Pastellone floor is suitable for use in areas where you want natural building materials and simple lines.

The finish adheres best to a porous substrate and can be installed over correctly prepared plasterboard brick cement board concrete and concrete blocks. The floor can be hand troweled buffed and completed in just a few days. The floors should be treated with care and good housekeeping is important. Venetian plaster can resemble the appearance of marble and can be applied either smooth or with a slight texture.
